A month ago was my birthday, am not one to be excited by anything in this world…I guess I would only be excited if I woke up and found Jesus seated by my bed! So on the 17th of last month I woke up and instead of being excited about the day I found myself thinking about what one should do in their twenties, it’s a time when one has lots of time on their hands with nothing much to do with it.

In my opinion your 20’s should be your selfish years, a decade to immerse yourself in every single possible thing.

Be selfish with your time and all the aspects of you, tinker with shit, travel, explore, love…I could have said love a lot but sometimes am a love cynic, key word “sometimes”.

In your 20’s ensure you are at the top of your priorities list because at the end of the day you are your longest commitment. Give yourself as many chances as you could possibly find and cut yourself some slack!! Actually cut yourself a whole lot of slack, if slack were a cloth, give it whole. Please cut yourself some slack darling…you are still learning how this crazy thing called “life” works. It’s natural to feel confused at times and remember, the goal is progress not perfection.

Like Stephen Covey said, “you have to decide what your highest priorities are and have the courage-pleasantly, smilingly, non apologetically-to say ‘no’ to other things. And the way to do that is by having a bigger ‘yes’ burning inside.” So as you are your number one priority say YES to yourself every day!!!

Live on your own terms and don’t let no one tell you how you should do it after all no one is handed an instructions manual at birth so do your thing. Otherwise if you end up with a boring pathetic life because you listened to your high school teacher, siblings, friends, parents or some frustrated fucked up(excuse my French) Tv presenter then well oh well you deserve it! This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take advise but don’t believe everything like its gospel truth unless of course  it’s from the bible.

Work hard, make it your business to chase your dreams! Better yourself every waking day, go to school and acquire all the knowledge you can, know all that your brain can possibly store, have the strongest ambition game, be THE MF THAT WENT WHERE NO ONE ELSE WAS GOING….so when your old, weary and grey you can rest knowing you did the best you could.
